Paul Renner’s iconic geometric sans can now be used by more than 90% of the world’s population
For more than 100 years, Paul Renner’s Futura® has been a truly beloved font. But Futura® has only been available to people who use the Latin script and a few others.
Until now.
Working in concert with Bauer Types and a global team of more than 50 leading type designers and experts, TypeTogether has created a type superfamily that is worthy of being called a global font. With our newest release, Futura®100 is now available in Simplified Chinese, nine Indic scripts including Bengali, Devanagari, and Tamil, as well as Korean. They join the 12 scripts released last year to create a powerhouse graphic design resource that serves more than 90% of the world’s population.
This release includes Simplified Chinese, Bengali, Devanagari, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Korean. Each are available in six weights ranging from light to bold with a variable font also available.
Futura®100’s interpretation into these widely-used scripts reframes Renner’s work by centering creative intentions and design details. Extensive research into local contexts has resulted in a font superfamily that serves a wide variety of use cases.
What can you do with Futura®100? It’s a great fit for agencies and brands with global reach and multinational commitments, as it brings the true spirit of Renner’s Latin design to a global audience. The scripts in Futura®100 are also designed to look great side-by-side with any of the others in the superfamily.
This is all thanks to the thoughtful and painstaking design work by a large international team of type design experts, Futura®100 meets us all where we live – in our mother tongues.
