New release: Playpen Sans

During TypeTogether’s research into early handwriting instruction around the world, we decided to make a casual typeface named Playpen Sans and release it to the world for free. It needed to fit a wide array of daily uses, from children’s books and casual notes to branding and graphic novels. And we wanted to ensure it was valuable in terms of usefulness and aesthetics rather than being just another typeface.

Playpen Sans has seven versions per character and we developed the code to ramdomise those characters as you type. Not only does this keep the typeface looking casual, it makes it appear authentically human. Further, we included some alternate character shapes to create a different mood as well as a set of emojis matching all eight weights.
