EULA—Webfont Addendum

IMPORTANT-PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:  This Webfont Addendum is made a part of the end user License Agreement (“Agreement”) entered into between you and TypeTogether for a license to use the Font Software identified therein.  In the event of a conflict between the Agreement and this Webfont Addendum, the Agreement shall control.

This Webfont Addendum permits the use of the Font Software identified in the Agreement as a Webfont (hereafter referred to as the “Licensed Webfont(s)”), by the amount of users specified in the purchase receipt ("Users") for the Agreement.

SHORT SUMMARY

What you're allowed to do:

  • Use the licensed webfont to style HTML web pages using @font-face in CSS
  • Use it on any website you own or control, as long as your monthly page views don't exceed the limit specified in your purchase receipt

What you're NOT allowed to do:

  • Link to or make available online any TrueType, OpenType, or other version of the font — only the licensed webfont format is permitted
  • Convert any standard TypeTogether font into a webfont format yourself
  • Modify, alter, or edit the webfont files in any way using conversion or editing tools
  • Sell, resell, sublicense, hotlink, or cross-link the webfont to make it available to anyone else
  • Exceed the monthly page view limit included in your purchase receipt
  • Use the font in digital advertising, including online, social media, search, video, and digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising.

Agencies and multi-client use:

  • If you're a web design agency or hosting provider, you cannot share a single webfont license across multiple clients — each client needs their own license
  • Prohibited interactive uses (without a separate license): Letting end users pick or type with the webfont in a text editor or composition tool
Using the webfont inside interactive web apps, games, fee-based apps, e-books, paid PDFs, or promotional apps — these all require a separate Embedding License Upgrade

FULL DESCRIPTION OF TERMS

Using the Licensed Webfont(s) on the web, for styling HTML web pages, is permitted using the @font—face selector in CS5 files and/or such other standard as TypeTogether may permit in the future, subject to the following restrictions. Should any additional uses not permitted or otherwise specified under this Webfont Addendum be desired, please contact TypeTogether at:  info@type-together.com to request the appropriate license upgrade and/or addendum.

1.    You may not link to, nor make available online, any TrueType, OpenType or other version of the Font Software you may have licensed. The use of improperly used or non-licensed webfonts is also prohibited.  You may not convert any standard TypeTogether Font Software to any web font format.

2.    The Licensed Webfont(s) may be used on any web site owned/controlled by you, as Licensee under the Agreement (subject to paragraph 3 below). The total monthly traffic, measured in page views, of web sites on which the Licensed Webfont is used must be no greater than the amount of page views per month specified in the purchase receipt you received for this Webfont Addendum.

3.    Agencies or others responsible for multiple clients’ web sites, such as, by way of example only and not limitation, web design agencies or hosting providers, may not use and/or share a Webfont or other Font Software for multiple clients. Each end-user must have an appropriate license.

4.    The Licensed Webfont(s) may not be used in any interactive web applications where, by way of example only and, not limitation:
    a) end users can select and/or use any Licensed Web font for a text composition or editing use; or
    b) with respect to commercial uses, the Licensed Webfont(s) are used within an interactive web or game application, a fee based application, an e-book, PDF document distributed for a fee, or an application that is distributed without charge which is used to promote a business’s activity, services or products (except as may be otherwise provided under a separately purchased the Embedding License Upgrade)

5.    You may not use conversion or editing tools or software to amend, modify or otherwise change or alter the Licensed Webfont(s).

6.    The Licensed Webfont(s) may not be sold, re-sold sub-licensed, made available by hot linking, cross linking or otherwise made available, irrespective of the technology or methods used, to any third party or any Webfont provision service.

7.    Use of the Font Software in Digital Advertising is not permitted under this License and requires the purchase of a License upgrade. Digital Advertising includes, without limitation, advertisements distributed through websites, mobile apps, social media platforms, search engines, streaming services, digital billboards, and other paid digital media channels.
